Trench Rossi Watanabe advises Shell on multimillion-dollar deal
Trench Rossi Watanabe has advised Shell Brazil on a USD 40 million investment in Carbonext, a leader in carbon credit projects. With the investment, Shell Brazil becomes a minority partner of Carbonext.
The transaction is a relevant project for the energy transition and net-zero rising markets.
Trench Rossi Watanabe supported Shell in all stages of the transaction, carried out the due diligence, and executed the relevant contracts for the deal.
“We were able to structure the operation based on a very well-planned and executed team work, which reaffirms our expertise in highly relevant and complex projects”, says Maurício Pacheco, partner of Trench Rossi Watanabe who led the negotiation. He was ably supported by partner Renata Amaral and associates Fernando Bammann, Munique Isoppo and Alexandre Jabra.
Carbonext was assisted by the law firm Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados, represented by partner Pedro Chueri and associates Guillermo Hoorn and Karina Margulies. The in-house lawyers who conducted the operation were Vitor Falcone and Bernardo Correia from Shell, and Franciele Salvador from Carbonext.
