Ruling establishing monthly limits for offsetting credits arising from court decisions is published

On January 5th, 2024 (Friday), the Ministry of Finance published MF Normative Ruling No. 14/2024, with the purpose of establishing limits for the use of credits arising from a final and conclusive court decision for offsetting credits above R$ 10,000,000.00 with federal debts.

For credits above R$ 10,000,000.00, recognized by a final and conclusive court decision, the minimum period for offsetting will be:
- twelve months, in the case of credits between R$ 10,000,000.00 and R$ 99,999,999.99;
- twenty months, in the case of credits between R$ 100,000,000.00 and R$ 199,999,999.99;
- thirty months, in the case of credits between R$ 200,000,000.00 and R$ 299,999,999.99;
- forty months, in the case of credits between R$ 300,000,000.00 and R$ 399,999,999.99;
- fifty months, in the case of credits between R$ 400,000,000.00 and R$ 499,999,999.99; and
- sixty months, in the case of credits equal to or greater than R$ 500,000,000.00.
