Environmental Protection Agency of the State of São Paulo suspends administrative deadlines in view of COVID-19
The Environmental Protection Agency of the State of São Paulo (CETESB), through its Directory Board, has suspended administrative procedure deadlines from March 16 to April 30, 2020. The suspension covers the following situations:
(i) submission of compliance with environmental constraints and notifications into licensing procedures;
(ii) submission of administrative defenses and appeals, besides other complementary documents, into sanctioning procedures;
(iii) compliance with measures of intervention plans for contaminated areas that become unfeasible in case the mobility of specialized work force is impossible.
It is important to highlight that the suspension of deadlines does not encompass the renewal of environmental licenses, authorizations and Certificates of Movement of Environmental Interest Wastes (CADRIs) into electronic procedures, nor compliance with environmental conditions in environmental licenses that are considered essential.
