End of state of calamity in Brazil

| In spite of the pressure from several State Governors and the recent increase in Covid-19 cases in Brazil, the state of calamity declared by the Federal Government on March 2020 ends tomorrow, December 31. With that, employers may no longer reduce employees’ pay/working hours, or suspend employment agreements based on the regulations that had created these measures to deal with the pandemic. We remain available to assist with the impacts of this update, reinforcing the need to pay special attention to cases where the mentioned agreements/measures are currently in place. |
