Trench Rossi Watanabe announces two new partners focused on IPTech and Labor Law
Trench Rossi Watanabe, one of the largest law firms in Brazil, announced the respective promotion and hiring of two new partners starting in July 2021. Attorney Flavia Amaral, who comes to the Firm as a lateral hire to further strengthen the data protection, technology and intellectual property team, and the then-senior associate Clarissa Lehmen, from the Labor group, are now part of the firm’s partnership.
A reference in intellectual property and franchising in Brazil, Flavia has a law degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, as well as a post-graduate degree in procedural law, and specialized in corporate law and capital markets at FGV. She also works as coordinator of the Intellectual Property and Fashion Law Center of Italian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (Italcam), is a member of the legal commission of Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF) and member of the Fashion Law Commission of OAB/RJ.
Clarissa started her career at Trench Rossi Watanabe, working at the Porto Alegre office between 2007 and 2008. She returned to the Firm (already in the São Paulo office) in 2014 as an associate of the Labor practice group, advising companies on strategic matters. She holds a degree in Legal and Social Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and an Executive MBA in Business Law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas.
Flavia’s arrival and Clarissa’s promotion mark a moment in which demands focused on innovation, new business models, data protection, and labor issues are high on the market’s list of needs, due to the conditions generated by the coronavirus pandemic and legislative changes, such as LGPD, legislative changes related to employment relations, and the accelerated changes in traditional labor models. With its 49 partners, Trench Rossi Watanabe reaffirms its position as one of the leading full-service law firms in the country. “Announcements such as this one reinforce our career development program and the constant investment in the Firm’s growth, which maintains its focus on providing increasingly better service to our clients. We couldn’t be prouder,” says Simone Dias Musa, partner and member of the Management Committee.
