Professional Experience
Thais Amaral joined the Firm in 2019 and has since distinguished herself in the areas of tax litigation, planning, and advisory. She has solid experience in preparing legal opinions and providing strategic guidance to Brazilian and international clients across a range of industries, including technology, pharmaceutical, automotive, and agribusiness, with a strong focus on current developments in the tax landscape. She routinely handles complex matters involving direct and indirect taxes. Before joining the Firm, she gained substantial experience in major companies in the mining, energy, and auditing sectors, which provided her with a broad and multidisciplinary perspective of the tax environment.
Academic Background
She holds a Law degree from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, with postgraduate specializations in Finance from Saint Paul Escola de Negócios and in Public Law from Escola Paulista de Direito. She also completed an LL.M. in American and Transnational Law at the University of Dayton, in Ohio, enhancing her academic background with an international legal perspective.
