Professional Experience
André Provedel joined the Firm in 2016 and is a senior associate of the IPTech group.
He acts primarily in the management of trademark portfolios of relevant clients, providing advisory services, handling and monitoring complex issues relating to freedom-to-operate and availability of trademarks, besides coordinating IP matters in different jurisdictions worldwide.
His practice involves all stages to obtain a trademark registration before the Brazilian PTO, including opposition and other administrative measures, as well as strategic analysis for trademark enforcement and negotiation of agreements.
He also has experience with copyright administration, technology agreements, trademark license agreements, domain name and unfair competition disputes, as well as due diligence processes.
He represents local multinational companies in the consumer products, chemical/pharmaceutical, healthcare, cosmetics, banking, infrastructure, automation, constructions and mining, telecommunications/electronics, transportation, hotel and entertainment sectors.
Academic Background
He graduated from Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC-Rio) with a degree in Law and specialized from FGV Direito Rio in Corporate and Capital Market Law. In addition, he holds an LL.M. degree from the University of Illinois with High Honors.
Activities outside the office
He is the Secretary-General of the OAB/RJ Industrial Property Committee, member of the Bulletins Committee and a volunteer of the International Trademark Association – INTA’s Pro Bono Clearinghouse Program for Latin America.

Author of many legal articles in his area of expertise published by specialized communication means, such as International Trademark Association – INTA, Pharmaceutical Trade Mark Group – PTMG, major newspapers and several trusted sources of analysis on the management of trademarks and other IP assets.
