ANATEL – Measures to ensure continued telecommunications services
The Brazilian Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has adopted measures to ensure continued telecommunications services, which have been classified as essential services during the Covid-19 pandemic. Accordingly, Anatel has simplified the procedures for certifying telecommunication devices and equipment, and will attempt to issue certificates within 10 days after receiving the request for certification (to the extent no official actions are issued during the process).
This initiative follows Anatel’s efforts in early March to simplify the procedures required for maintaining certificates expiring between March 6 and June 30, 2020. For maintenance proceedings, Anatel has exempted the supporting documentation requirement, except for manufacturer affidavits.
