Professional Experience

Felipe Zaltman Saldanha joined the firm in 2015 and became a partner in 2022. Felipe has extensive experience advising clients in legal disputes involving patents, unfair competition and trademarks. He also represents clients in strategic litigation in matters involving information technology and data privacy.

Academic Background

He holds a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, an LLM in Law and Economics from the European Masters in Law and Economics (Università di Bologna, Gent Universiteit and Erasmus University Rotterdam), a Master’s Degree in Civil Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro and a specialization in Civil Procedural Law from the Rio de Janeiro State School of Magistrates. He is also a guest lecturer on postgraduate courses at UERJ.

Representative matters and clients

• Represented a client in the telecom industry in litigation of national relevance involving antennas and possible patent infringement/invalidity.
• Represented pharmaceutical clients in leading cases involving discussions of inventive step, patent adjustment terms,  ANVISA’s prior approval for pharmaceutical patent applications (article 229-C of Law 9.279/96), among others.
• Represented a client in the fungicides sector in administrative proceedings before the Brazilian Patent Office, as well as in strategic litigation involving multiple lawsuits.
• Represented a client in the technology sector in various lawsuits challenging fines imposed for alleged non-compliance with the Brazilian Internel Legal Framework.
• Represented a client in the technology sector involving multiple lawsuits related to user generated content and compensation.
