SENACON and ANPD sign Technical Cooperation Agreement to protect consumer data
In summary
On March 22nd, 2021 the National Consumer Secretariat (“SENACON”) and the National Authority of Data Protection (”ANPD”) executed a Technical Cooperation Agreement to speed up the inspection and investigation of security incidents involving consumer data.
One of the main goals of the Agreement is to standardize the actions involving consumer complaints related to security and leakage of personal data, as well as provide studies, research and technical notes together.
With the Agreement, a permanent communication forum is established between SENACON and ANPD in order to facilitate the exercise of their respective obligations, as provided in the General Law of Data Protection (”LGPD” – Federal Law No. 13.709/2018).
