Brazil: Ministry of the Environment opens a public consultation related to the Take Back System for Glass Packaging

The Ministry of the Environment (MMA) opened a public consultation on the proposed Decree that will regulate the Take Back System for Glass Packaging in the national territory. This is an initiative similar to the Sectorial Agreement for the implementation of a take back system for general packaging (paper, plastic, among other), signed on 11/25/2021.
| The Decree now under public consultation will involve manufacturers, importers, distributors and sellers of products sold in glass packaging and, according to the MMA, will encourage the productive insertion and remuneration of cooperatives and associations of collectors of reusable and recyclable materials. Stakeholders’ contributions can be send through the website http://consultaspublicas.mma.gov.br/decretoembalagensdevidro, until February 05, 2021. |
